My eating habits have been not so good. I normally just try and keep things nice and balanced, not restrictive but not overindulgent. I’m not a great cook so mostly boring meals that rarely change. Since Thanksgiving, I feel like every day has consisted of two normal and fairly healthy meals and one crazy giant meal that would be fine like once a week.
I tend to get into a routine with breakfast and this week my theme has been a delicious multigrain english muffin, a fried egg, a tomato, and a slice of cheese. Simple but so, so good.
My other meals of the day are typically a salad or sandwich for lunch and something like grocery store sushi, whole wheat pasta with marinara, an omelet (if I didn’t have eggs for breakfast) for dinner. Sometimes I go crazy and try an actual recipe like stir fry or pancakes. This week, I had an entire chipotle burrito for lunch on Monday, a delicious bbq sandwich and a giant plate of fries for dinner on Tuesday, and chinese food for lunch on Wednesday. Not great.
All of the food was super tasty but I don’t really think three indulgent meals three days in a row following thanksgiving was my best idea. In two weeks I head back to Chicago for two weeks where I want to be able to eat all of the amazing things that Chicago has to offer so for the next two weeks I plan to be extra mindful of my eating habits and for the next two weeks this blog is going to bore you to death with my boring meals but I feel like I need extra incentive. Definitely not overboard but a moderate healthiness seems pretty necessary right now.
Saturday: 6 mile run
Sunday: 100 burpees workout
Monday: 30 minute elliptical and BodyWork class at the gym
Tuesday: 4.5 mile run
Wednesday: 5 mile run
Thursday: Elliptical and a new “anywhere” workout. All you need for this workout is a bench. When I’m home in a few weeks I won’t have a gym membership so I’ll need a few indoor at home workouts but I still love the great outdoors so I’m going to attempt to brave the cold every now and then.
Friday: 2 mile shakeout and lots of stretching- Malibu Canyon 10k is tomorrow morning!
